Post #1's win-loss record improves after Beresford Because there have been some weather related cancellations or postponements, the first double header with Beresford was played there on Thursday, June 15.

The result was a two-game improvement for Vermillion Post #1's win-loss record to 6-8 going into the double header vs. Yankton scheduled June 19.

Eric Holoch started the first game and was credited with the win as he went three innings giving up two runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one, facing 17 batters in his stint. The team of relief pitchers, each pitching one inning, were Drew Lawrence, Todd Anderson, Dan Holoch and Adam Brooks who shut out the home team the rest of the game.

First game scoring stats for Post #1 were: Tim Broderson � two for four hits, two runs, two RBIs; Aaron Baedke � two for four, one run, two RBIs; Brett Mockler � one for three, one run; Jason Madsen � one for three, two runs; Dan Holoch � one for four, two runs, two RBIs; Dustin Larson � one for four, one run; and Eric Holoch aided his own cause by scoring the third run in the game to assure his winning pitcher designation for the 10-2 win.

Line scores: Vermillion � 10 runs, 10 hits, three errors; Beresford � two runs, five hits, nine errors.

In the second game Vermillion's team sent 12 batters to the plate in the first two innings, but only scored one run, falling behind 2-1 after two with starting pitcher Broderson running into some early wildness, walking two and uncorking four wild pitches, plus an E-6 in the field. No relief pitcher was necessary since Broderson held the opposition to three runs while Vermillion's offense took over, scoring 10 more runs in the rest of the game making him the winning pitcher of the 11-5 victory.

Scoring and RBI results were: Varns � one run, one for four hits, two RBIs; Broderson � one for three, one RBI; Anderson � one run, one for three; Brooks � two RBIs; Dan Tolsma three for three, two runs; Madsen � two for three, one run, two RBIs; Mockler � two for four, two runs, one RBI; Baedke � two of three, two runs, two RBIs including a home run; Eric and Dan Holoch each scored a run.

Line score: Vermillion � 11 runs, 13 hits, three errors; Beresford � five runs, four hits, four errors.
