Students named to deans’ lists at USD

Students named to deans' lists at USD More than 680 students, or nearly 9.5 percent of the student body, have been named to spring semester dean's lists at The University of South Dakota.

The lists below, naming Vermillion-area students, are broken down into the various colleges and schools, according to the academic criteria of the school or college at USD.

College of Arts and Sciences

Dean John Carlson has named 247 students in the College of Arts and Sciences to the spring semester dean's list. To qualify for the list, students must rank in the top 10 percent of their class. Students who earned a 4.0 grade point average are noted with an asterisk (*).

Pre-Business

School of Business Dean Jerry Johnson named a total of 90 students to the spring semester pre-business dean's list. Students on the pre-business list are freshmen or sophomore students preparing to enter the USD School of Business which admits students at the beginning of their junior year.

In order to be on the list, students must compile at least a 3.2 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. A maximum of 20 percent of the students in a class is allowed on the list, so the GPA requirements may be higher for some classes. Students who earned a 4.0 grade point average are noted with an asterisk (*).

The following students have been named to the School of Education dean's list by Acting Dean Jeri Engelking. The list includes education and pre-education students pursuing a bachelor of science degree in education, students pursing a bachelor of science degree in recreation, or students pursuing a bachelor of science degree in allied health. In order to be eligible for this scholastic honor, students must earn at least a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.00 scale and carry at least 12 semester hours. The dean's list with "high honors" is 4.00 and "honors" is 3.50-3.99. Students with a 4.00 grade point average are noted with an asterisk (*).
