USD Dakota Days 2000 committee chairs elected The Dakota Days Committee at The University of South Dakota has recently announced its committee chairs for Dakota Days 2000. The Dakota Days Committee is responsible for organizing the annual Dakota Days homecoming celebration. Dakota Day is Oct. 14, with the theme "Discover the Treasures."
Becca Maiwald of Sioux Falls, president, will be responsible for overseeing the Dakota Days Committee and activities. She is the daughter of Dieter and Steffanie Maiwald. Sara Schlump will assist Maiwald as vice-president. Schlump is the daughter of Dale and Aggie Schlump of Sioux Falls.
Float Chairman Greg Storgaard of Sioux Falls will be responsible for all float participation in the parade. Storgaard is the son of Joseph and Mary Kay Simon.
Parade Co-Chairs Missy Aeikens, Spirit Lake, IA, and Denis Campbell of Sioux Falls will be in charge of all aspects of the parade. Aeikens is the daughter of Glenn and Pat Aeikens and Campbell is the daughter of Patrick and Patricia Campbell. Tiffany Larson will be responsible for all marching band participants as band chair. Larson is the daughter of Lee and Kris Larson of Irene.
Dignitaries Chair will be Melissa Zimmerman of Rapid City. She will be responsible for all guests and dignitaries that participate in the parade. Zimmerman is the daughter of Patrick and Marilyn Zimmerman.
Cindi Wagner was elected promotions chair and will be responsible for promotional materials for Dakota Days including t-shirts, magnets and give-away items. Wagner is the daughter of Dennis and Joyce Wagner of Parkston.
Publicity Chair Dave Hansen of Milbank will be responsible for all publicity for Dakota Days. He is the son of John and Kay Hansen.
Special Events Co-Chairs Meaghan Anderson of Pierre, and Lisa Johnston of Sioux Falls will be responsible for all entertainment and events planned for USD during the week. Anderson is the daughter of Keith and Arlyce Anderson and Johnston is the daughter of Darrel and Rose Johnston.
Deana Wisnieski will chair the Capers Program Committee which is responsible for the planning and organization of the 19th Coyote Capers Show and Coronation. Wisnieski is the daughter of Stan and Debbie Wisnieski of Sioux City, IA.
The Capers Cast co-chairs will be Amanda Daeges of Litchfield, MN, and Robin Dickenson of Vermillion. They will be responsible for the Capers Cast dancers and routines. Daeges is the daughter of David and Ann Daeges and Dickenson is the daughter of Ross and Sandy Dickenson.
Coronation Chair Katie Larson will be responsible for the coronation of Mr. and Miss Dakota. She is the daughter of Steve and Kim Larsen of Yankton.
