Vacek receives retail scholarship from SD Retailers Association The South Dakota Retailers Association has announced the recipients of scholarships for the 2000-2001 school year.
A $750 scholarship was awarded to Travis Vacek of Vermillion, studying business management at The University of South Dakota.
The Retailers Association presents a minimum of $3,000 in scholarships each year to individuals enrolled at South Dakota colleges, universities and vocational schools. The program provides financial support to individuals intending to pursue a career in retailing.
Recipients are selected by a committee of retail business owners. The scholarship program is funded through donations and memorials from the Association's membership.
The South Dakota Retailers Association is a 3,800-member statewide business organization.
