Will exchange vows Alisha McPartland, daughter of Jerry and Deb McPartland of Castlewood, and Shawn Spurrell, son of Owen Spurrell, Plankinton, and Judy Swensen, Wakonda, announce their engagement.
McPartland is a 2000 graduate of Castlewood High School and plans to attend SDSU and major in English education.
Spurrell is a 1999 graduate of Wakonda High School. He plans to attend SDSU and major in history and physical education.
The couple plans an Aug. 5 wedding at the United Methodist Church in Wakonda.
The couple will reside in White.
