Danielle Backhaus begins clinical fellowship Danielle Backhaus, daughter of LeRoy and Donna Backhaus of Vermillion, recently began a post-master's clinical fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, CT.
Backhaus graduated with her master's degree in social work from the University of Minnesota � Twin Cities in May and began her clinical training at Yale July 1.
The Yale Child Study Center is an academic department of Yale University and is part of the Yale School of Medicine. The center provides clinical consultation and treatment for children, adolescents, and their families whose lives are burdened by mental, emotional, and developmental problems.
Backhaus will spend her year providing outpatient clinical services to these children and their families while also receiving hands-on training and supervision.
Along with providing services within the child study center, Backhaus will also be providing mental health services within several New Haven public schools. She will complete her fellowship June 30, 2001 and plans to return to Wisconsin and resume her practice there.
