Stewart wins SDGA Juniors Allison Stewart of Vermillion won the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Championship in the Girls 14-15 Division at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton on July 24-25. Junior golfers throughout South Dakota qualified in four age divisions at various sites for these championships.
Stewart shot a two-day total of 160 (80-80) beating second place finisher Carley Roach of Brookings by one stroke. There were 13 juniors competing at this division.
Placing second in the Boys 11-Under Division was Vermillion golfer Alex Schaack. Schaack shot a nine-hole score of 40 falling four strokes back of Nate Barbee of Dakota Dunes. Jordan Boots of Vermillion shot a 45 earning him a tie for fifth place among 18 competitors.
Other area golfers qualifying for the state championships were Chris Moen, Brad Schaack, Donny Stewart and Rob Schaack.
