Popular eatery damaged by fire Marj's Place, a popular downtown Vermillion diner, was damaged by fire early Monday morning, Aug. 28.
The call came in at 5:38 a.m., according to the Vermillion Police Department.
Details of the fire were not available at press time. Fire Chief Doug Brunick was in the Black Hills at the time, assisting in fighting the Jasper fire. Chuck Taggart, officer in charge at the time of Marj's fire, left Tuesday to relieve Brunick and the local crew in the Black Hills.
