Registration packets available for ACT, SAT assessments The start of a new school year means it's time for Vermillion High School juniors and seniors to consider participating in the ACT and SAT Assessment Programs.
The guidance office recommends that students participate in the ACT Assessment Program and/or SAT Achievement Series during their junior year or early in their senior year so the results will be available in time for use in planning for post-secondary education and careers.
Both the ACT and SAT assessements have expanded and updated their programs to provide students and educators with new kinds of information for meeting the challenges into the new millennium.
Students can obtain registration packets that contain all the information necessary to register and prepare for the assessments from the guidance office. The basic registration fees are $23 for ACT and $24 for SAT. Late registration will be accepted by both ACT and SAT with additional handling fees.
ACT and SAT computer preparation programs are available in the MAC LAB and in the Guidance Office.
Colleges use information from the ACT and/or SAT Assessment Programs for academic advising, admissions counseling, course sectioning and placement, student services, and institutional research. ACT and SAT assessment reports are sent to students, their high school counselors, and only those institutions and agencies specifically designated by the student. For more information about the ACT or SAT assessments, contact the high school guidance office, 677-7035.
