USD women's volleyball team defeats Chadron The University of South Dakota women's volleyball team moved to 2-2 on the season by winning in impressive fashion over Chadron (NE) State at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Tournament on Saturday.
The young Coyote squad won in three straight games, 15-4, 15-2 and 16-14.
The Coyotes were led by sophomores Sarah Vollertson of Palmyra, NE, Amber Abrams of Rapid City, Leslie Fusinato of Spring Valley, IL, and freshman Becky Olson of Norfolk, NE, who each had 10 kills. Olson also had 14 digs while Katie Wancho of Reddick, IL, registered 38 set assists for the Coyotes.
Earlier on Saturday, the Coyotes fell to Findlay (OH), 3-0, 15-3, 15-13 and 15-9. The Coyotes were led by Olson who had seven kills and Vollertson had six. Wancho contributed 18 set assists.
USD also split a pair of games on Friday, defeating Tarleton State University in three games (15-13, 15-13, and 15-12) and losing to tourney host and 12-ranked University of Nebraska-Kearney in three games (15-5, 15-3 and 15-3).
