VHS marching band places second in parade

VHS marching band places second in parade The Pride of Vermillion Marching Band received second place in Class A at the 2000 Dakota Days Parade competition Saturday, Oct. 14, with a score of 87.5.

"We were pleased with our performance Saturday, although we wished our score was a little higher. The band is now gearing up to perform this Saturday at Quad State," said John Alpers, director of bands at Vermillion High School.

The Quad State Field Marching Competition will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, in the DakotaDome. The competition begins at 10:15 a.m.
