Coyotes finish volleyball season with 3-0 loss to South Dakota State The No. 7 ranked South Dakota State women's volleyball team defeated The University of South Dakota 3-0 (15-9, 15-12, 15-7) in North Central Conference play Saturday in the DakotaDome.
The Coyotes concluded their season at 10-25, 2-16 in the NCC. With the win South Dakota State remained in a tie at the top of the NCC with a 15-3 mark. They are 28-3 overall.
For the Coyotes, freshman Becky Olson had nine kills on 25 attacks and six defensive digs while sophomore Amber Abrams had nine kills on 33 attacks.
Freshman Angela Golesh led USD with 28 set assists and sophomore Leslie Fusinato had a team-high 12 defensive digs.
Overall, the Coyotes had 35 kills on 123 total attacks and 38 defensive digs.
South Dakota State was led by Shauna Sturm, who had 21 kills on 39 attacks for a .436 hitting percentage while Rose Ebnet had 19 kills on 39 attacks for a .359 hitting percentage and also contributed 13 defensive digs. Angie Rime had 47 set assists.
Overall, SDSU had 61 kills on 147 attacks for a .286 hitting percentage. The Jackrabbits also had 70 defensive digs.
