Education forum set November 27 An area legislative forum, hosted by the Southeast Area Cooperative, is planned for Monday, Nov. 27, at Beresford High School.
The focus of the forum will be on legislative matters, issues and topics relevant to education for the upcoming 2001 legislative session and local school district input to legislators.
A dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with the legislative forum at 6:45 p.m. Legislators from District 16 (Sen. Ken Albers, Rep. Mike Broderick, and Rep.-elect Margaret Vandermore-Gillespie); District 17 (Sen. John "Joe" Reedy, Rep. Judy Clark and Rep.-elect B.J. Nesselhuf); and District 18 (Sen. Gary Moore, Rep. Matthew Michels, and Rep.-elect Jean Hunhoff) have been invited to attend.
Area board members and administrators from the following school districts will be in attendance: Alcester-Hudson, Beresford, Canton, Centerville, Cornbelt Education Cooperative, Dakota Valley, Elk Point-Jefferson, Gayville-Volin, Harrisburg, Hurley, Irene, Lennox, Parker, Viborg, Yankton, Vermillion and Wakonda.
The public is invited to attend the public forum at 6:45 p.m. at Beresford High School.
