Ho, ho, ho! First Dakota National Bank in Vermillion doubled as Santa's workshop Sunday afternoon, allowing scores of area children to visit St. Nick to let him know what gifts they'd like to receive for Christmas. First Dakota National Bank in Vermillion doubled as Santa's workshop Sunday afternoon, allowing scores of area children to visit St. Nick to let him know what gifts they'd like to receive for Christmas. Ethan James, 7, his sister, Kinsey, 8 months, and younger brother, Levi, 4, all found room to fit on Santa's lap. The three children's parents are Brad and Kari James, Vermillion. Elves from Alpha Xi Delta, namely Jennifer Buck, LaTisha Thorton, Mary Duncan and Susan Duncan, offered their assistance all afternoon. Santa's appearance was part of Vermillion's Holiday Open House, which began at noon Sunday and ended at 5 p.m. when the jolly old elf flipped a switch to turn on the downtown holiday street lights.
