October students of month named Tim Brodersen and Natalie Tuetken were named as the October Vermillion High School Students of the Month.
A $100 scholarship will be provided to them for their academic and extra-curricular achievements by First National Bank in Vermillion.
Brodersen has a very active life in school and in the community. He has been involved with baseball, track, football, basketball and Natural Helpers. Additionally, he has been a Boys State candidate, a Special Olympics volunteer, in National Honor Society, and in the Trinity Lutheran Youth Group.
"Whether working on his own or with other students, Tim always demonstrates respect for others and keeps high standards for himself," according to his faculty endorsement. Brodersen's future plans include becoming an architect. His parents are Brad and Karol Brodersen.
Tuetken, likewise, has set high standards and remains involved in many facets of school and the community. Her endorsement noted that "Natalie is a leader among her peers and an excellent role model for the underclassmen."
Her long list of activities include the National Honor Society, German Club, Girls State, Dance Team, gymnastics, cross-country, track, Natural Helpers, CYO, and a Special Olympics volunteer. Her parents are Doug and Sara Tuetken. She plans to enter the medical field as a nurse.
