Vermillion students conducting food drive Students Enhancing Resources for Vermillion Enrichment (SERVE), a community service organization, and HEROES are sponsoring a food drive for their community service projects in November.

The collection of non-perishable food items began Nov. 16 and will end Dec. 7 in designated drop boxes at various locations around Vermillion such as Hy-Vee, Jones' Food Center and the Coyote Student Center. The food collected from the drive will be donated to the food pantry in Vermillion.

The HEROES organization consists of USD students working with Vermillion Middle School students in a group setting. The service organization sponsors monthly community projects.

SERVE is a community service organization with over 200 student members. It coordinates six programs in the Vermillion area including Big Pal/Little Pal, Into-the-Streets, Adopt-A-School, Adopt-A Grandparent, Caring Connections and HEROES.
