Coyotes now ranked 10th The South Dakota men's basketball team has been ranked #10 in NCAA Division II, according to rankings released by the NABC/Division II Bulletin Monday, Dec. 18.
The Coyotes, 8-1 and 2-0 in the North Central Conference, moved up in the poll from a #12 ranking on Dec. 11. This is the fourth ranking list released by the NABC/Division II Bulletin.
South Dakota is riding a four-game winning streak, including a 91-68 win over Minnesota-Duluth on Dec. 14 at the DakotaDome. During the weekend of Dec. 8-9, the Coyotes opened the NCC season with an 80-57 win over Minnesota State-Mankato (Dec. 8) and a 74-56 win over St. Cloud State (Dec. 9) at the DakotaDome.
Florida Southern (6-0) tops the NCAA Division II ranking with Kentucky Wesleyan (7-0), second, and Southern Indiana (7-0), third. The rest of the top 10 includes Northern Kentucky (9-0), fourth; Adelphi (8-0), fifth; Wingate (9-0), sixth; Tampa (9-0), seventh; Salem International (6-1), eighth; Cal State-San Bernadino (7-0), ninth.
Next up for the Coyotes will be NCC road games against Augustana College, Friday, Dec. 29 at Sioux Falls; and South Dakota State, Dec. 30, in Brookings. The men's games will be held at 8 p.m., immediately following NCC conference games between the school's women's teams at 6 p.m.
