Department of music presents holiday concert The University of South Dakota Department of Music will present a holiday concert on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts.
Performing ensembles include the USD Trombone Choir, opening the program with performances of select trombone music from Prague, in addition to traditional and contemporary carols. The University Choir, directed by Dr. Sue Ann Stutheit, will perform a variety of choral music.
Highlighting their portion of the program will be a performance of Sigalagala (Kenya) by Luo Spiritual in conjunction with the USD Percussion Ensemble.
The USD Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Lawrence Mitchell, will close the program with a variety of wind band music including works by David Shaffer, D. Delle Cese, Henry Fillmore, Robert Longfield, and noted Dutch composer, Kees Vlak.
The program is open to university students and the general public with no admission being charged.
