Gas prices down, AAA survey shows Gasoline prices in South Dakota have dropped to an average of $1.5220, according to AAA South Dakota's pre-Christmas Fuel Gauge Survey. This average is down just over nine cents per gallon from the pre-Thanksgiving survey taken on Nov. 15, when the average was $1.6156.
Although the price of gasoline has dropped over the past month, the average is still about 23 cents higher than it was a year ago.
The national average price of self-serve unleaded is $1.4744 which is 16.4 cents higher than a year ago.
AAA South Dakota reminds all travelers to buckle up for safety when traveling this holiday season.
