Gymnasts place fourth at Wagner The Tanager gymnastics team placed fourth in the Wagner Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 9, scoring 112.8 points.
The tournament consisted of eight schools from diverse locations in South Dakota, with team scores determined by the sum of four individual scores in each of four competitive events.
Madison had the highest total 132.7 for first place; Fort Pierre was second; Miller, third; Vermillion, fourth; Chamberlain, fifth; West Central, sixth; Wagner, seventh; and Winner, eighth. The top five all-around gymnasts were recognized, where Tanager Sarah Christopherson placed fourth out of 16 competitors.

Amber Reisdorph � bars, 6.6, beam, 3.75, floor, 7.2, vault, 7.5, all-around, 25.05.
Sarah Christopherson � bars, 8.0, beam, 6.15, floor, 7.85, vault, 7.6, all-around, 29.8.

"We performed very well on the first three events Saturday, but then we ran into a buzz saw on the balance beam," said Tanager Coach Mark Upward. "We had a chance for a season best in the 115 point range, but had to settle for 112.8."
