Theft at gas station caught on video tape by M. Jill Karolevitz The theft of an undisclosed amount of cash was caught on video tape at Bob�s Amoco on Sunday night.

According to the Vermillion Police report, a white male in his early 20s entered the station at about 7:30 p.m. and told the employee there that he had called earlier about some tires. When the gas station attendant went outside to check on the tires, the suspect opened the register, stole the cash and fled the scene.

It wasn�t until another customer came in to pay for a purchase that the employee noticed the money was gone when he opened the cash register.

�The entire theft was recorded on video tape,� said Detective Lowell Oswald. �We also got a description of the suspect and recovered some partial finger prints from the cash register that we believe belong to the suspect.�

Police are looking for a white male in his early 20s. He was wearing a dark colored stocking cap, a light brown coat, dark pants and sandals with no socks.

The investigation is continuing and anyone who has any information is asked to call the VPD at 677-7070.
