USD to host economic policy forum Dec. 11 The economists at The University of South Dakota will host the fifth annual Economic Policy Forum from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, in Farber Hall, located on the USD campus.
The Economic Policy Forum will feature a panel of students and experts in economics discussing a wide variety of local and national economic issues.
The panel of experts will include three distinguished USD School of Business professors. Dr. Angeline Lavin is an assistant professor at USD, specializing in finance. Dr. Raymond Ring is an economist specializing in public finance. Dr. Dennis Johnson is a professor who specializes in economic theory.
"The Economic Policy Forum gives students and community members an opportunity to probe economic issues beyond the classroom level, and hear from experts in our own region," said Dr. Randall Waldron, associate professor of economics and forum organizer.
In its fifth year, the forum has been successful in creating awareness of economic issues ranging from local concerns such as agriculture, to national issues. The public is invited to attend the free event. Panel members will also welcome questions from audience members.
