Annual Row Crop Clinic planned The annual County Row Crop Clinic is set for Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the 4-H Center in Vermillion.
Featured speakers will be Leon Wrage, South Dakota State University Extension weed specialist, who will discuss topics including Roundup review and performance, weed shifts and what's new for 2001. This program begins at 10 a.m. and will be finished at noon.
The afternoon program will start at 1 p.m. with Keith Zanter, local FSA director, discussing FSA program changes. Jim Gerwing, SDSU Extension soils specialist, is slated to speak at 1:15 p.m. His topics include understanding fertilizer materials and nitrogen management and recommendations.
At 2:15 p.m., Alan May, SDSU Extension marketing specialist, will discuss grain market outlook, risk management and crop insurance calculator. The program will conclude at 3:15 p.m.
This program is free and open to the public. A similar schedule of speakers is set for Union County but with the above afternoon program on the morning schedule there. For more information contact the Clay County Extension Office at 677-7111.
