Financial aid seminar planned First Dakota National Bank will host a free student financial aid seminar on Thursday, Jan. 25.
High school students who are planning to attend college, parents, and teachers are invited to attend the seminar at First Dakota's Education Center, 225 Cedar St. in Yankton, beginning at 7 p.m.
Peggy Kuck, Education Assistance Corporation, will discuss the various types of student loans available and offer some guidelines on how and when to start the application process. She will also demonstrate the advantage of using the Internet to access college, career and financial aid information.
Clarence Shoemaker, University of South Dakota, will walk participants through the process of filling out a financial aid application. They will each offer discussion and answer questions on qualifying and applying for various scholarships and aid.
