Girl Scouts receive Gold Awards Amy Berg and Kelsey Collier-Wise were awarded Girl Scout Gold Awards on Nov. 18 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Vermillion.
The Gold Star is the highest award given in Girl Scouting.
Their project was cleaning and repairing the Girl Scout hut located in Prentis Park. Windows and doors were replaced and repainted, and cement cracks fixed, along with cleanup and removal of years of acumulated supplies and garbage. A rededication is planned for this spring.
Berg and Collier-Wise have many years in Girl Scouting, guided by their mothers and leaders, Susan Berg and Caitlin Collier.
Donna Schafer was the featured speaker with "Attaining your goals."
