Gregoire receives memorial award Robert Gregoire, director for Clay Rural Water System, has been awarded the 2000 Carroll Anderson Award by South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems (SDARWS). Gregoire accepted his award during SDARWS's 26th annual Technical Conference in Pierre, Jan. 9-11.
The Carroll Anderson Memorial Award is a tribute to the exemplary work of Carroll Anderson who gave generously of his time, talents and efforts to the Kingbrook RWS and the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems. At the time of his death in December of 1977, Carroll Anderson served as vice chairman of both organizations.
Gregoire was born and raised in South Dakota. He was an original member of Clay RWS when construction began in the late 1970s. After being elected to the board of directors in 1991, he served as vice-president from 1995-1997 and as president from 1997-1999.
Gregoire is extremely dedicated to his local rural water system's success and supported many improvements and projects that benefited the system and consumers. Always an outspoken supporter of rural water, Gregoire continues to contribute his time, talents, and energy to his local system as well as the state association.
