Obituaries Edwin Johnson
Edwin A. Johnson, 87, Vermillion, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion, with the Rev. Judith Johnson officiating. Burial was in BluffView Cemetery, Vermillion.
A prayer service held at 7 p.m. Jan. 1 at the Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home, Vermillion.
He was born Feb. 1, 1913, at Meckling to Rasmus and Johanna (Robertson) Johnson. He attended Meckling Grade School. He married Ova M. Case Jan. 13, 1932, in Yankton. He farmed and worked at the USD Animal House for 18 years before retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermillion.
He is survived by his wife: Ova Johnson, Vermillion; two sons: James (Barb) Johnson, Sheldon, MO, and Garry (Cheryl) Johnson, Canton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Renee Hughes, Seattle, WA.
