Phi Beta Kappa lecturer announced

Phi Beta Kappa lecturer announced The Phi Beta Kappa Lifto Amundsen lecturer will be the executive secretary of PBK Dr. Douglas Foard, a historian of 20th-century Spain.

Foard will be on The University of South Dakota campus April 2-4, with the Phi Beta Kappa evening lecture titled "Phi Beta Kappa: From Quill Pens to Cyberspace," on April 3. Initiation of USD students into PBK will precede his lecture.

The Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest scholastic honor society in the nation, formed on Dec. 5, 1776. The USD chapter is the only chapter in the state.

Marjorie Lifto Amundsen and her son, Dr. Loren Amundsen of Sioux Falls, both alums of USD, started the Lifto Amundsen lecture series in 1989.
