Vermillion is organizing a new community choir Do you have a song in your heart and nowhere to sing it? Did you enjoy singing in your high school choir? Do you miss singing in harmony with a good choir? Then you may be just the person needed to sing in Vermillion's community choir!
All soprano, alto, tenor, and bass singers interested in singing in a community choir are invited to attend a first rehearsal and informational meeting on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. in the Vermillion High School choir room. The group will rehearse a variety of show tunes to perform at Vermillion's Summer Arts Festival on June 16.
This new choir will be performing two to four concerts per year in a wide variety of musical styles: folk, jazz, opera, show tunes, chorales, madrigals, Americana, Latin, African, Gregorian chants, gospel, barbershop and more. People who love to sing, but lack the opportunity to sing from a wide repertoire are urged to participate.
No auditions will be held and choir positions will be open to ages 14 to 104. Anyone interested should contact Mark Loder at 624-6303, Jeanne Dahlin at 624-8542, or Mary Sorensen at 624-6604.
