Vermillion will compete in KTIV Quiz Bowl

Vermillion will compete in KTIV Quiz Bowl Sixteen Siouxland high school teams have been selected to compete in the upcoming 2001 KTIV Quiz Bowl competition.

The roster of 16 teams was determined following the first-round competition of over 40 different schools held at Western Iowa Tech Community College on Jan. 6.

The 2001 teams include: Westwood, Kingsley-Pierson, Norfolk, Sioux City North, Sac Community, Madison, MOC-Floyd Valley, Vermillion, Unity Christian, Albert City-Truesdale, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Central Lyon, Dakota Valley, South Sioux City, Sioux City West and Sioux Central.

Each of the teams will compete in upcoming episodes of Quiz Bowl airing on KTIV Channel Four. Teams are made up of four students and alternates.

The team that wins the championship of the KTIV Quiz Bowl will receive a trophy and $1,000 towards their travel expenses to compete in the national Quiz Bowl competition.

The KTIV Quiz Bowl is sponsored by Western Iowa Tech Community College and Sosinc Communications.

The KTIV Quiz Bowl, a Siouxland tradition, is hosted by KTIV Chief Meteorologist Ron Demers and Quiz Master Don Stone. The 2001 season of the KTIV Quiz Bowl premieres Saturday, Jan. 20 at noon on KTIV Channel Four.
