AAU district youth wrestling tournament scheduled March 3 The Alcester-Hudson Youth Wrestling Club will host the AAU District 10 Youth Wrestling Tournament on March 3 at the Alcester-Hudson Elementary School Gym.

According to Bob Johnson, Brookings, the National AAU Youth Wrestling Director, AAU cards and proof of age will be required at all district tournaments. Birth certificates or drivers license will be accepted.

The age/weight divisions are:

(New Division) Non-Qualifiers (born in 1993 or after) � 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 ,65, 70, HWT.

Division I (born 1991 and 1990) � 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 92, 100, 112, 125, HWT.

Division II (Born 1989 and 1990) � 55. 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 108, 119, 132, 148, HWT.

Division III (born 1987 and 1988) � 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, HWT.

Division IV (born 1985 and 1986) – 83.5, 88, 94.5, 103.5, 112, 121, 132, 143, 154, 167, 182.5, 209-242 (Division IV does not need to attend districts. Only regions in Marion.)

Girls Division

South Dakota high school wrestling rules will be followed. Singlets are recommended but shorts and t-shirts are acceptable if shirts are tucked in.

The top eight places will advance to the region tournament in Salem. Medals will be awarded to the top three place winners and ribbons to the fourth through eighth place winners.

Weigh-ins will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Wrestling will start at approximately 9:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served and concessions will be available. No coolers allowed. The cost will be $3 per wrestler. Postponement announcements, if needed, will be on WNAX, KELO-TV, and KSFY-TV.
