Child care conference scheduled for March 31 Dakotaland Child Care & Parents Conference will he held at the Mount Marty College Roncalli Center in Yankton on March 31, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the welcome and the keynote address being presented at 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. by Dr. Mark Britzman on "Renewing the Child Care Providers Spirit." It will highlight the importance of child care providers and give tips to insure high levels of wellness in a demanding profession.
Following the keynote, breakout sessions will be held throughout the day. Topics that will be available to select from are: music and story telling, food handling, activities to promote diversity, stress and burnout; temperament, effects of media on children, infant brain development, science activities, diversity, literacy development, moral development and giftedness. Breakout sessions allow participants the opportunity to select classes that will benefit their personal needs.
