Clark and Chapman honored by Sertoma Club

Clark and Chapman honored by Sertoma Club Judy Clark and Jere Chapman were honored by the Vermillion Sertoma Club during its annual banquet held Feb. 3.

Clark received the Service to Mankind Award. This award is presented to a non-club member from the community for outstanding service work.

Clark was recognized for her extensive volunteer work with the Vermillion Beautiful project. She is also currently serving her second term as a state representative from District 17.

Chapman received the Seratoman of the Year award for his valuable contributions made to the club during the past year. In addition to involvement with Sertoma charity projects, Chapman chaired the golf tournament fund raiser and was the top seller for the annual football book fund raiser.

Also recognized at the event were:

* John Mueller, who was presented with his Past President's Plaque.

* Gerald Yutrzenka, Steve Waller and Doug Martin, who received special recognition certificates.

* USD student and Vermillion High School graduate, Kim Hoffman, who thanked the Sertoma Club for the scholarship she received.

* New members: Bob Hansen, Layne Stewart, Elaine Larson, Brian Walton, Steve Waller, Gerald Yutrzenka, Doug Martin, Maureen Burton, Kirsten Compary, William Dambowy, Solveig Korte, Leon Korte, Curtis Kost, Cyndy McBride, Ed Nesselhuf, Don Scheidel and Kathryn Stewart.
