Obituaries Sybil Cox

Memorial services were held Jan. 31 for Sybil Harriette Cox, 87, at Sogge Good Samaritan Society Chapel, Windom, MN.

Sybil Harriette Cox was born in Vermillion, on Aug. 28, 1913, to Elmore S. and Selma A. (Anderson) Peterson. She grew up and received her education in Vermillion, graduating with the Vermillion High School Class of 1931. Thereafter, she attended The University of South Dakota.

On Sept. 11, 1935, she married Fred W. Cox in Spirit Lake, IA. Shortly thereafter, they moved to California where Mrs. Cox was employed in mer-

chandising for many years. They made their home in California until the death of Mr. Cox in the 1960s.

In 1978, Mrs. Cox moved to Mesa, AZ, and enjoyed many good years. In 1996, her health began to deteriorate and she moved to the Sogge Good Samaritan Center in Windom, MN, to receive special care. She died Jan. 22, 2000.

Her family includes two sisters: Gladys Westburg of Windom, MN, and Delores Nolan of Sacramento, CA; and two nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers.
