USD receives research grant

USD receives research grant The University of South Dakota chemistry department was recently awarded a grant of $498,626 according to Dr. Stanley May of the department.

The National Science Foundation awarded the grant for a project titled "Development of a South Dakota Photodynamics Research Program." The funds will be used for the research and study in the development of light used to influence chemical reactions or physical processes.

This project is a joint collaboration between USD and South Dakota State University. Four members of the USD chemistry department will take part in the program. The USD faculty includes Stanley May, Mary Berry, Andrew Sykes and Silvia Ronco. Jeffrey Elbert and Ronald Utecht of SDSU will also be participating.
