Alpha Xi Delta will host annual spaghetti supper Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity at The University of South Dakota will hold its 16th annual spaghetti supper on Wednesday, March 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vermillion National Guard Armory.
Every year the women of Alpha Xi Delta hold the spaghetti supper to raise money for the South Dakota American Lung Association.
"Spaghetti supper is a wonderful way for the community to come together and make a difference in the lives of Vermillion children," said Kerri Sprecher Alpha Xi Delta philanthropy chair.
All proceeds from the supper will help pay for Vermillion children attending the Camp Foster YMCA of the Okoboji's asthma camp in Okoboji, IA during the summer.
Alpha Xi Delta has been affiliated with the American Lung Association for 21 years. In this time they have raised thousands of dollars and volunteered hundreds of hours of service.
"We are dedicated to enriching the lives of children through our national philanthropy, Alpha Xi Delta Choose Children," said President Amy Johnson. "There is always a little more than we can give as a community to help those who need it."
Alpha Xi Delta believes in the dignity of the individual child. Individually and collectively Alpha Xi Delta members and chapters support organizations that nurture the child.
The YMCA Camp Foster asthma camp provides a safe environment for kids with lung disease. The camp staff is composed of physicians and health professionals, experienced counselors and program leaders. The medical support team includes doctors who specialize in treating asthma, plus nurses and respiratory therapists with several years of experience in working with children at camp.
Tickets for the spaghetti supper will be sold at the door of the armory. Prices are $5 for adults, $4 for USD students, and $3 for children 12 and under. For more information contact Sprecher at (605) 624-9694.
