Baseball team opens season with 3 victories The Coyotes' men's baseball team opened their season with a 12-4 win over National Christian College in San Antonio, TX.

Junior Mike Parkin was the winning pitcher as he allowed no runs and had five strikeouts in two and two-thirds innings of relief work. Bryan Hohenthaner was the hitting star with two hits (double and triple) and two runs scored.
Junior Matt Huggett had a solid start for South Dakota. He pitched five innings, struck out six hitters and did not allow a run.
Rob Heisel went 3-for-3 and hit two home runs with eight runs batted in as South Dakota rolled past National Christian College 19-4 in another match-up on Monday afternoon. Derek Huxford had three hits and scored three runs. John Brunswold had a strong outing on the mound as he went four innings and struck out three hitters while allowing two runs.
Dan Dobraski had a strong effort on the mound in the third game, as South Dakota defeated National Christian 14-1.
Dobraski threw four innings, allowing just an unearned run while striking out five and walking two hitters. Heisel went 2-for-3 and hit his third home run of the trip. He also had four runs batted in for South Dakota.
Todd Dekkers went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. South Dakota was the home team in this game.
