Coalition is seeking champions for children The South Dakota Coalition for Children is seeking Champions for Children who have worked on behalf of children or children's causes and have achieved solid gains for South Dakota children.
Nominees will be honored at the 2001 awards luncheon on Friday, April 27 in Rapid City. Four winners will be chosen representing individual, organization, business, and journalism categories.
Winners will receive an inscribed silver plate and $250 to dedicate to the children's cause of their choice. All nominees will be notified of their nomination and honored as a guest at the Champion for Children Awards Luncheon.

The South Dakota Coalition for Children's mission is to shape policies and programs to ensure the well being of all children in South Dakota. The coalition is a nonpartisan, advocacy organization dedicated to ensuring the needs of all South Dakota children are met including food, clothing, shelter, nurturing, education, health care and safety within the family and community. The Champion for Children Awards were established by the coalition in 1996.
