Dance marathon has $18,000 goal Vermillion community members will help create miracles during the fourth annual Dance Marathon at The University of South Dakota on March 16-17.
The marathon will begin at 5 p.m. at the Vermillion National Guard Armory, Friday, March 16. "Our executive committee has worked hard to plan a marathon that will inspire the dancers as well as the community," said Jessi Huber, overall chair for dance marathon. "Your heart lifts when you see a child who has lived through a miracle and it is exciting to see the faces of the dancers when they realize the impact they make in the lives of CMN families."
The dance marathon is a 24-hour fundraising event for the South Dakota Children's Miracle Network (CMN). Last year the USD Dance Marathon raised over $15,000. This year's goal is $18,000. One hundred percent of the money raised through CMN is used to assist area children and their families.
