Madison overpowers VHS baseball team The Vermillion baseball team met the enemy at Madison on Friday, April 20, but the enemy was "us."
Brett Mockler supplied most of the offense, scoring twice on one for two batting. Dan Tolsma scored once going one for three. That was all the scoring the Tanagers could muster as none of the other players got a hit.
Mockler was the starting pitcher and gave up five hits, but was sloppily backed up by seven errors as the Bulldogs outscored the Tanagers 13-3 and the 10-run rule was applied after five innings.
The line scores were: Madison 13 runs, five hits, two errors; Vermillion three runs, two hits, seven errors.
Coach Jason Gault sadly shook his head and muttered, "Oh, those unforced errors!"
