Muilenburg, Wherry present art exhibition The University of South Dakota will present an exhibition titled "Identity" by Anita Muilenburg and Judee R. Wherry.
This is a bachelor of fine arts graduating exhibition for both artists. A public reception will be held in the Main Gallery of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts on Friday, April 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. The gallery is open and free to the public on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Muilenburg's work includes prints of her "New Worlds" series that consists of figures and landscapes created using innovative graphic design software and equipment. She also showcases her clay renditions of "Sea Creatures."
Selected animations including a visual artist's statement and under-the-sea animations complete Muilenburg's part of the exhibition. She is the daughter of Paul and Andrea Mai of Alton, IA.
Wherry's pieces showcase her emphasis on graphics by traditional print media, incorporating numerous computer applications and experiences in each general area and showcasing the principles she has learned as an art student at USD. In a slide show, she combines drawings, photos and prints into an interactive piece. Wherry is the daughter of David and Janel Wherry of Vermillion.
