Parkin throws a 4-0 shutout against Augie The University of South Dakota baseball team improved to 10-7 on the season by sweeping a pair of games at the NCC/NSIC Challenge at Headid Park in Sioux City, IA on March 30.
The Coyotes defeated Augustana, 4-0, and Southwest State, 4-3.

In game one, Mike Parkin improved his record to 3-2 on the season by pitching a complete game three-hitter and recording 10 strikeouts as South Dakota defeated Augustana, 4-0.
The Coyotes opened the scoring in the fourth inning when John Quade had a sacrifice fly to score Rob Heisel. In the sixth inning, shortstop Nate Dunlap hit a two-run single to score Heisel and Derek Huxford.
Dustin Moore added an RBI single to score Quade.
For the game, the Coyotes had four runs on eight hits and no errors.
USD 4, Southwest State 3
Junior lefthander Matt Huggett improved his record to 2-1 as he combined with Rob Miller on a five-hitter in South Dakota's 4-3 win over Southwest State in nonconference baseball action. Huggett allowed three runs on five hits. Miller picked up his second save by pitching a scoreless seventh inning.
Southwest State opened the scoring when Matt Hanson hit a home run in the first inning. The Coyotes answered in the home half of the first inning when David Iman hit an RBI single to score Dustin Moore who had reached base on a walk.
Later in the inning, Dunlap hit a three-run home that scored Iman and John Quade. Southwest State scored a pair of runs in the third inning when Matt Tiggas had a two-run single that scored Jacob Swartout and Matt Hanson.
