Rawlins Piano Trio will perform April 24 The nationally acclaimed Rawlins Piano Trio of The University of South Dakota is offering its spring concert in Vermillion on Tuesday, April 24 in Farber Hall at 8 p.m.
This performance features works by Haydn, Beethoven and American violinist and composer, Edwin Grasse. The concert is open to the public free of charge.
The members of the Rawlins Piano Trio are department of music faculty members Susan Keith Gray (piano), John Thomson (violin), and Richard Rognstad (cello). Named for benefactors Majorie Rawlins and the late Robert Rawlins, the trio has formed a reputation as a preeminent interpreter of 19th and early 20th century American music.
In January 1999, Albany Records released the Trio's second compact disc recording of its repertoire. A third recording is nearing release.
