Tanager girls' golfers win again at The Bluffs West Central was the victim for the Tanager girl's golf team in the match played at The Bluffs on Tuesday, April 10.
A 49-stroke advantage spelled success for the varsity as the Lady Trojans brought only their varsity squad. However, the JVs had a real competitive match among themselves.
"It looks like I have the pleasant task of picking the last two varsity seeds for the next few matches," said VHS Coach Kirk Hogen. "There has developed a real challenge by some of the younger girls. That's good!"
Varsity team results were: Vermillion, 171; West Central, 220.
Medalist was Allison Stewart with a 37. Other scores were: Karrie Plate 41, Tabitha Hubert 44, Dru VanKley 49, Ashley Bjorkman 50, and Brooke Nelson 52.
The JV medalist was Nicole Veitz with 48 as the final totals in the qualifying competition were: Megan Deaver 54, Kaylie Heesch 55, Jackie Thomas 57, Meggie Donnelly 62, Megan Bedard 67, and Dani Weydert 92.
The weather was okay for golf cool, partly cloudy, slight wind, threatening rain.
