Tanagers score in 12 of 18 at Lennox track qualifier Six schools were represented at the Lennox Booster Club Qualifier last Thursday, April 19. Team scores were not recorded, but the Tanager girls' track team had 10 individual placers in 12 of 18 events.
Vermillion scorers in field events were: Sarah Mollet placed second in the shot put; Jaclyn Powell finished fourth in the long jump and won the triple jump with a new school record 34'5.25" which qualified for state; Powell scored fourth place in the high jump; Annie Carlson placed fifth in the long jump; and Nicole Pederson was fifth in the triple jump.
Lindsay Dunkeson placed fourth in the 100m hurdles. Results in the dashes were: 100m � Elly Kjose, fifth, with a time of 12.8 seconds, which qualifies her for state; and Morgan Brooks was fourth in the 400m.
In the long distance runs; Brittney Gilkyson claimed fifth in the 800m.
In the relays, third place was scored in the 4x100m with members Jenna Gilkyson, Nicki Nelson, Kjose and Carly Bernard. The 4x200m relay team was sixth, with Nicole Pederson, Nelson, Bernard and
Kjose. The 4x800m relay team came in fourth place (Brittney Gilkyson, Brooks, Tessa Tuetken and Beth Pier).
The medley had Vermillion in fifth place (Jenna Gilkyson, Nelson, Heather Heine and Tuetken).
The schools represented at the meet were Brookings, Dakota Valley, Sioux Falls Christian, Sioux Falls Lincoln, Lennox, Parker, Parkston and Vermillion.
