USD planning April 22 concert The University of South Dakota Symphonic Band and the University Choir will present a spring concert on Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in Slagle Auditorium.
The program will open with a performance by the University Choir, under the direction of Dr. Sue Ann Stutheit. Choral literature for the program includes works by Knut Nystedt, David Folz, Ren� Clausen, Donna Schulz, Randall Thompson, William Dawson, and Jaques Offenbach.
The University of South Dakota Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Mitchell, will take the stage, after a brief intermission, with the performances of standard and contemporary wind band literature. Highlights of their program will include performances of Cloudsplitter Fanfare by Jack Stamp; Summer Dances by Brian Balmages; Scootin' on Hardrock by Davis Holsinger, and The Klaxon March by Henry Fillmore.
The concert is free.
