Area chiropractors attend conference Several area chiropractors recently attended a continuing education conference where they learned about rehabilitation techniques for neck and back pain; bariatrics, and diagnosing heart and lung problems.
Chiropractic physicians licensed in South Dakota must take 40 hours of continuing education every two years. Upon graduation from chiropractic colleges, chiropractic physicians have at least 4,485 hours of education and training.

The South Dakota Chiropractors' Association represents all 255 chiropractors licensed to practice in the state. Chiropractic physicians provide a drug-free, non-surgical approach to health care. On average, 24 percent of South Dakotans are treated each year by chiropractic physicians, the highest utilization of chiropractic in the nation.
