Tabitha Hubert will receive 4-H scholarship at banquet An outstanding 4-H'er will be honored for her accomplishments through a scholarship to be awarded at the 2001 SD Youth Conference banquet on the South Dakota State University campus, on June 7.
Tabitha Hubert, Vermillion, is a recipient of the John F. and Beryl Younger scholarship. Carolyn Clague, Extension 4-H youth development specialist at SDSU, said the scholarship is awarded to a South Dakota 4-H'er who will be a freshman at SDSU, majoring in education, family and consumer science or agriculture.
Hubert will be a freshman this fall at SDSU majoring in family and consumer sciences.
In high school, she was a three-year Presidential Scholar and a member of National Honor Society. She also served as her class president and was a member of the student council.
Throughout her 11 years as a member of the Coyote Cubs 4-H club, Hubert was a club officer seven of those years. She also reorganized the Clay County junior leaders program, and was the SD state 4-H Council/Ambassadors parliamentarian and historian.
Applicants are scored on scholastic achievement, 4-H project accomplishments, citizenship, leadership, character, and financial need, said Clague.
