USD College of Fine Arts to host 'spring showcase' The University of South Dakota College of Fine Arts announces its second annual spring showcase and art sale scheduled for Saturday, May 5 between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
During the day, a variety of arts activities will take place on the front lawn of the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., student art work will be on sale. Various USD musicians and ensembles will perform between noon and 5 p.m.
A free public picnic is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., served by music students.
Student art work will also be on display in the Main Gallery of the Fine Arts Center and in Sletwold Hall at the W.H. Over Museum. An exhibit titled "Digital Pleasures" will be on view at the former Maurices location in downtown Vermillion, presenting work by students in the USD Graphic Design program.
The day will conclude with a 7:30 p.m. "Turn of the Century" concert in the Wayne S. Knutson Theatre, performed by the USD Symphonic Band and the University Choir.
The public is welcome to join students, faculty, and staff of the College of Fine Arts in this end-of-the-year celebration of creativity.
