Vermillion dominates Beresford, Lennox in middle school track A bright sunny day (with intermitent showers) was appreciated for the Vermillion Middle School Triangular involving Beresford, Lennox and home school Vermillion on Tuesday, May 1.
The seventh- and eighth-grade girls' track teams scored impressive victories. The seventh graders placed first in eight of 14 events. Team points results for their division were:
Vermillion � 82; Beresford � 34; Lennox � 32.

Field events: Long jump � Carrie Christensen, first, 13'1", Megan Epping, second, and Chrystal Coakley, third; high jump � Michelle Olsen, first, 4'0", and Heather Walker, second.
Dashes: 100M � Coakley, first, 13.7, Epping, second, Amy Mollet, third; 200M � Coakley, first, 30.4, Amy Mart, second, Nicole Orr, third; 400M � Christensen, first, 1:12.4), Orr, second, Heather Walker, third; 100M hurdles � Loretta Wermerson, second, Jadee Hofer, third.
Long distance runs: 800M � Walker, second, Patricia Merrigan fourth; 1600M � Katie Dehner, first, 6:29.
The 4×200 relay placed first in 2:05.4 with members Hofer, Orr, Mollet, Kitto and Epping. Second place went to the 4×100 team of Epping, Meghan Phillips, Mollet and Coakley, while the 4x400M relay team of Christensen, Dehner, Merrigan and Walker won with a time of 5:05.2. Second place was garnered by the medley relay team of Phillips, Wermerson, Hofer, and Orr.
The eighth graders had first place in 10 of 14 events! Team points results for their division were: Vermillion � 72.5; Beresford � 34.5; Lennox � 29.

The 4×100 relay placed second with runners O'Connor, Kelsie Austin, Job and Christensen. The other relay teams all won their events: 4x200M � 2:01.3 (O'Connor, Christensen, Austin and Carlson); 4x400M � 4:48.9 (Weydert, Johnson, Bernard and Brooks); medley � 2:13.0 (Job, Christensen, Odson, and Weydert).
